For the international scholarships, UK students are not applicable as the scholarships are only for international students, but if you are a UK national, you can go for the postgraduate scholarship as it is designed for UK nationals who want to progress into postgraduate education.

University of East London Postgraduate Scholarship

A postgraduate course can help you whether you want to expand your professional experience, learn a new skill, or develop new ideas. This postgraduate scholarship offers a 50% discount on course fees to help with the financial costs of continuing education.

Eligibility

As a home student, you must apply for a postgraduate-taught course and have your fees assessed.

If you are pursuing a collaborative partner institution, distance or online learning, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), a Professional Diploma in MArch architecture (ARB/RIBA Part 2), a professional doctorate, MPhil, PhD, or an integrated master’s degree, you are ineligible for the UEL postgraduate scholarship.

Furthermore, MA Social Work students who receive government funding are ineligible to apply.

How do I apply?

Scholarship applications are now being accepted! The application deadline is Sunday, January 1st, at 23:55 p.m.

Late applications will not be accepted, so please submit your application before the deadline.

Decisions will be made within two to three weeks of the deadline, and you will be notified via email.

If you plan to begin your course in September 2023, applications will open in March 2022, so please check back here for updates.

University of East London has announced several scholarships for international students, some of which include full tuition funding.

International Basketball Scholarships

Applicants must have an offer for a one-year taught master’s program or a three-year bachelor’s program without any additional academic conditions (only English language results may be pending).

Successful applicants will be expected to represent their specific sports club at UEL and contribute to the development of the club.

Value: Covers 100% of tuition fee scholarships

International Rowing Scholarships

Applicants must have an offer for a one-year taught master’s program or a three-year bachelor’s program without any additional academic conditions (only English language results may be pending).

Successful applicants will be expected to represent their specific sports club at UEL and contribute to the development of the club.

International Scholarship at UEL (Bachelors)

These scholarships are only available to international students pursuing bachelor’s degrees.

The UEL International Scholarships for Bachelor’s Level range from £1,000 to £5,000 and cover only the tuition fee for the first year of study.

This scholarship is available to students who have been offered a place at the University of East London for a bachelor’s degree program.

Short courses, exchange or study abroad programs, franchised programs, pre-masters programs, international foundation programs, or pre-sessional English programs are not eligible for UEL International Scholarships for Bachelor’s study.

Scholarship Value

Max. £5,000 (this scholarship value would be given once).

The scholarship value only covers tuition fees and not living expenses, lodging, air fare or travel expenses, spouse or child care, health insurance, or application fees.

Note: Scholarships range from £1,000 to £5,000 and are based on the applicant’s first year’s tuition fees.

Scholarship Eligibility

1. Only for international students. UK nationals will not be allowed.

2. Applicants must have passed high school or secondary school with the following grades:

  • 60% or higher in the All India Senior School Certificate (including English Core, English Comm, or Functional English).
  • CBSE/CICSE National Education Boards: 60% or higher
  • State Boards (Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the Seven Sisters of India): 60% or higher; Kerala State Board: 65% or higher.
  • All other school boards or state boards: 70% or higher

3. The English language requirement includes:

  • IELTS 5.5 overall: a minimum of 5.5 in Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening (or recognized equivalent)

  1. LOR, which is a written recommendation from a teacher or a professor who is familiar with the applicant’s academic performance.
  2. All academic documents, including transcripts and certificates, must be photocopied.
  3. IELTS or other approved English qualification score
  4. Personal statement
  5. Photocopies of your passport

Tuition Fees And Scholarships

Scholarships of up to £5,000 will be funded to anyone who wants to study any taught master’s degree course at the University of East London.

Dean’s Scholarships

These scholarships will provide a full tuition fee waiver. Any taught master’s degree course at the University of East London is eligible.

Although all international students are eligible to apply for these scholarships, students from “conflict zones” are preferred and encouraged to apply.
